Youth Musical Theatre Program
In addition to our weekly Theatre Skills Classes Liberty Youth Theatre Runs Up To 6 Youth Musical Theatre Programs Per Year.
Lead by Artistic Director Tim Gibbs - (Stage) - Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Grease, Oliver, Addams Family... (Screen) - Gladiator, Star Wars Ep 1, Mad Max Fury Road, Pride & Prejudice, The Bill, Eastenders, Out Of The Blue.
Tim Gibbs is graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and the Royal College of Music. With over 35 Years Experience Across The Professional and International Stage.
Our 12 - 14 Week Thematic Musical Theatre Programs are by far the best way to get your child involved in a real musical theatre production.
Over the course of the program, returning and new "cast" are introduced to the magic of live theatre from audition to the final curtain call.
Designed for children of all abilities aged between 9 and 18 we operate a fully inclusive platform for creative development where the emphasis is on building on what the cast members already have rather than cherry picking the best performers to lead our productions.
We are proud to accept cast members who are not regular weekly students of Liberty Theatre Co and you do not need to be a regular student to participate in our Musical Theatre Programs, though it is encouraged that students explore additional learning opportunities.
Typical programs will consist of 1 weekly 2 to 3 hour workshop (Thursdays) where cast learn songs and choreographed routines and a Weekend Rehearsal (Typically Saturday Afternoon) where we start putting the show together whilst teaching essential theatre skills including Acting, Movement and Stage Craft.
Leading up to a Full Week of Tech & Dress Rehearsals at our very own theatre in North Boambee our cast will dazzle audiences with what they have learned over 5 to 10 performances to up to 1200 people.

Liberty is an inclusive theatre and education provider with a vision to support a society that enables everyone (regardless of background, ability or affluence) to flourish. Its mission is to develop a unique environment that empowers children, young people and adults to define and seek solutions to their individual, community and social challenges.
Through programs and activities facilitating education, theatre, participation, and professional training, Liberty breaks down barriers to inclusion and transforms wellbeing. Liberty works with children and young people aged 10 - 18
Our inclusive ethos means we welcome people from diverse backgrounds, and our community is made up of people from across all of society, including those experiencing social exclusion in mainstream environment. We empower individuals, building transferable skills and providing platforms to reflect these back to their communities: We support the presence, participation and achievement of all citizens.
We provide access to adaptable creative environments, which are defined by the positive contribution of every participant. We support individuals to recognise their existing skills, build new capacities and understand the relevance and transferability of these to other environments. we establish an approach to inclusive practice and policy which can be relevant to other areas of arts and education sectors.
Although we are fully inclusive, placements are offered only after successful application and audition.
We have 2 audition rounds per term - once before the beginning of that term and then we have a 2nd round at week 3 for any latecomers wishing to join classes and if we have space available.
